Designing Epiphanies: Harnessing Spontaneity at Will
Project type: Relativistic Conceptualization in Integrative Thinking.
Summation of a thought process in text, and visualization.
This project was the culmination of various chains of mental discourse,
pooled up in the "Epiphanetic Design" thought school,
at International Open Elective-18, National Institute of Design.
20 students from various backgrounds were part of the deliberations,
that delved into the possibility and validation through self-experience,
of harnessing the subconscious at will, and learning to program our own minds
to better reveal the true nature of our own interactions with our environment,
and its effect on self.
While the solutions arrived upon were too particularistic to be listed here, the nature of THE Question itself reveals much to the probing eye and hence is presented here, as an abstract elaboration, with a Graphic designed to ask The Question.

epiphany
/ɪˈpɪf(ə)ni,ɛˈpɪf(ə)ni/

"A sudden revelation, realization of some meaning"
design
/dɪˈzʌɪn/
noun
" A conscious effort/deliberation towards creation of some meaning"
Design and epiphanies, on first glance, seem to lie on the opposite extremes of human endeavors. One seems to be a result of a thought-out process, while the other, a completely random thought.
But, what if, epiphanies were not as random, nor as disconnected to one's own self as
they are perceived to be?
What if, the INcalculable power and the sheer majesty of an epiphanatic moment
can be harnessed at will ?
What if, it is revealed that what appears as an epiphanatic, and a rather coINcidental happenstance of an idea, is actually our own mind, retrieving INformation hidden in the deep recesses of our own subconscious , and relating it to newer contexts to present before us an idea, that, for all intents and purposes, is novel, revealing, enthralling and bafflingly simple ?
What if, we can learn, to do so, time and again, at will,
and thus, design our own epiphanatic moments?
What happens, when we learn to look INside our own selves,
and learn to be in complete control of the INformation
we have absorbed IN there ?
We remove our blocks, conquer our fears, allay our INhibitions
and learn to learn ourselves, the world withIN, and thus gaIN
a new perspective to look at the world outside with, a new vision,
an engINe of perpetual INspirations,
and unique INsights, at will.
And we behold a world outside, a gift, locked away by our own sights.
The key lies withIN.
An epiphany is self-discovery.
All we need, is to look IN.
And find, a pattern amidst the flux, through methodical spontaneity,
to achieve order in the chaos.
